Police Beat: Feb. 20


Tempe Police reported the following incidents Friday:

 

  • A 28-year-old transient man was arrested Feb. 12 at the 400 block of South Mill Avenue on suspicion of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.Tempe Police arrived after a call about a fight and arrested the man shortly after talking to him, police reported.Officers searched the man and found a glass pipe with marijuana residue in his pants pocket, according to the report.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where police searched him again and found marijuana in his left sock, according to the report.

    The man was released pending drug charges, police reported.

  • A 19-year-old Lake Havasu City woman was arrested Feb. 13 at the 700 block of North Mill Avenue on suspicion of drug paraphernalia and dangerous drug possession, according to a police report.Tempe Police questioned the woman at Marquee Theatre when they found four ecstasy pills stamped with the Nike logo in her possession, police reported.The woman told police the pills were ecstasy and belonged to her, according to the report.

    She also had a plastic bag containing a white powder, which she  also said was ecstasy, police reported.

    Police could not determine at the time if the substance was ecstasy, according to the report.

    The woman was arrested, transported to Tempe City Jail for booking and released pending drug charges, police reported.
