Police Beat: Feb. 23


ASU Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

 

  • A 44-year-old administrative assistant on the West campus reported Friday that a woman from Texas allegedly called and emailed her numerous times, leaving disturbing messages, according to a police report. The assistant told ASU Police the messages began Thursday and are from her husband’s ex-lover, police reported. The assistant said she only listened to some of the messages because the content was very disturbing, according to the report. An officer looked through all 10 emails, police reported.The emails contained no threats toward the woman, but included pictures of what is believed to be the her husband’s penis and a reservation to stay at a Texas hotel, according to the report.

    Police also listened to two voice mails left on the office line, police reported.

    In both voice mails, the ex-lover said her and the husband’s relationship was not over and “it will always last,” according to the report.

    Police attempted to contact the other woman via phone, but she was unresponsive, police reported.

    The administrative assistant told police she wished to prosecute the ex-lover for harassment because she fears the situation could become a more serious threat, according to the report.

    The administrative assistant said she contacted University Technology Office about blocking future calls and e-mails from the ex-lover, police reported.

  • A male student under the age of 21 was arrested Saturday at the 700 block of East Apache Boulevard on suspicion of consuming alcohol under the legal age, according to a police report.A University police officer on patrol of the Vista Del Sol parking lot approached and questioned the man, police reported.The officer could smell alcohol coming from the man’s breath and saw the man's eyes were his eyes were watery and bloodshot, according to the report.While the officer spoke with the man, the man had a slurred speech and at one point vomited on himself and the ground, police reported.The man told the officer he had a few beers earlier in the night, according to the report.

    The man was arrested, issued a citation and released, police reported.
