Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

 

  • A 52-year-old woman was arrested early Monday morning at Southern Avenue and McClintock Drive on suspicion of drug possession, according to a police report.Tempe Police stopped the woman’s vehicle for having an unsafe load in the truck bed, according to the report.The woman refused to let officers search her truck and denied having any illegal drugs, according to the report.

    After the K-9 unit searched her truck, police found Clonidine and Erythromycin pills without prescriptions, according to the report.

    Police also found a brown paper bag with two glass pipes and a suitcase containing methamphetamine, a scale and a broken glass pipe, police reported.

    The woman said to possessing the pills, but denied knowledge of the methamphetamine and paraphernalia, according to the police report.

    The woman was booked into Tempe City Jail and released, police reported.

  • A 59-year-old woman was arrested Monday morning at the 5600 block of Spinnaker Road on suspicion of drug possession, according to a police report.The woman’s vehicle was stopped in a kidnapping investigation, according to the report.

    Police searched the woman’s car and found a red purse containing seven Xanax pills and one Oxytocin pill, police reported.

    The woman claimed she had prescriptions for the drugs, but did not carry the prescription bottles with her, police reported.

    The woman was taken to Tempe City Jail and released pending charges, according to the report.

  • A 59-year-old transient man was arrested at the 2000 block of East Orange Street Sunday afternoon on suspicion of felony aggravated assault, according to a police report.Police discovered the man had punched a 12-year-old in the face, giving the child a bloody nose and a split lip, according to the report.

    The man had mistaken the 12-year-old as one of a group of children who had been throwing a football and rocks at the man earlier that day, police reported.

    The man was booked at Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, according to the report.

  • A 25-year-old man was arrested Sunday morning at the 2000 block of East Libra Street on suspicion of felony aggravated assault, felony and misdemeanor trespassing, felony and misdemeanor criminal damage, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, according to a police report.The man entered the backyard of a house on Libra Street and broke two gates, a car windshield and garden pots, damaging about $2,100 of property, according to the report.

    The man then broke a window on the back door of the house, with property damaged estimated at $500, according to the report.

    Police found the man with his head through the broken window, looking into the house, police reported.

    The man kicked an officer in the head after police pushed him to the ground, according to the report.

    The residents did not know the man and or why he damaged their property, police reported.

    The man was booked into Tempe City Jail where he was held to see a judge, police reported.
