Tempe Police are searching for three men involved in two separate robbery incidents near the Tempe campus on Wednesday and Thursday.

A man was seen at about noon Wednesday getting out of a black, four-door sedan-type vehicle to chase down two women before taking a purse from one of them and fleeing the scene, according to a University crime alert.

The man was described as a stocky, black male in his early 20s with a brown hat and a black bandana covering his face, according to the alert.

The women and witnesses near the scene were unable to provide a description for the driver, according to the alert.

In a separate incident, two male suspects at the 900 block of Terrace Road robbed two female students of their backpacks, cell phones and a laptop Thursday shortly before 6 p.m.

The females described one man, who was armed with a silver revolver during the robbery, as being thin, black, about 20 years old and roughly 5-feet-9-inches tall. The other man was described as white, thin, 5-feet-7-inches tall, with blonde shaved hair.

Both men fled on BMX bicycles, according to the alert.

ASU Police Cmdr. Jim Hardina said University Police is assisting Tempe Police in finding the men by providing extra patrol around the Tempe campus.

Tempe Police are asking for public assistance and encourage anyone with information regarding the robberies to call the department at (480)  350 - 8306.
