Clubhouse Music Venue owner Eugenia Ruven was arrested Friday by Tempe Police on suspicion of violating city security regulations, according to Tempe Police officials.
Tempe Police spokesman Jeff Glover said in a news release that the violations include not having enough security staff, not enough parking lot security and letting non-security personnel act as security.
The arrest came a week after the March 2 gang-related shooting outside of the Clubhouse. The incident resulted in 16 injuries.
The 16th victim came forward sometime last week, Glover said.
Ruven was cited instead of being booked into Tempe City Jail and her security plan, tied to her business permit, was revoked by the City of Tempe, according to the release.
The venue can stay open for an 11-day period as Ruven has five days from Friday to appeal the revocation and improve on The Clubhouse’s security plan.
City officials have another five days to repeal or uphold the decision, according to the release.
Ruven will be penalized with a separate criminal charge each day the venue operates without a valid security plan after the 11-day period, according to the release.
Police arrested one man from the shootout on March 3 on suspicion of his involvement. They are still searching for two more men who were last seen wearing dark colored clothing.
The Tempe community is still being encouraged to assist in the apprehension of the two men.
