Tempe Police reported the following incidents Friday:

  •  A 24-year-old Tempe man was arrested Sunday at the 1000 block of East Playa Del Norte Drive on suspicion of narcotic possession, according to a police report.

Parking garage security guards saw the man smoking a tar-like substance in his vehicle on the fifth floor, according to the report.

When the security guards walked up to the man’s car he was holding a straw, a piece of tin foil and a substance later confirmed to be heroin, police reported.

The security guards told the man to get out of the car, police reported.

The security guards gave the heroin to Tempe Police, according to the report.

Police arrested the man, transported him to Tempe City Jail for booking and released him pending the drug charge, police reported.

 
  • A 28-year-old Tempe man was arrested Sunday morning at the 400 block of South Mill Avenue on suspicion of aggravated assault on a police officer, criminal damage, disorderly conduct and second-degree trespassing, according to a police report.

Margarita Rocks Beach Club security guards saw the man in a fist fight with another man at the Hackett House on the 90 block of West Fourth Street, according to the report.

The man started walking toward the bar and as he got closer, he started charging at the crowd waiting outside, police reported.

Security stopped the man and called Tempe Police, according to the report.

Police placed the man in handcuffs when they arrived, according to the report.

As the man’s pockets were searched for his identification, the man turned over to face an officer and yelled, “F--k you!” before spitting in the officer’s face, police reported.

The Tempe Fire Department arrived to assist the assaulted man and the officer, police reported.

Tempe Fire told the officer to check in to a hospital for antibiotics because he may have received unknown blood pathogens from the man spitting on him, police reported.

The man was arrested, transported to Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, according to the report.
