Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:
- A 22-year-old Peoria woman suspected of burglary and trespassing was arrested Sunday on the 300 block of South Mill Avenue, according to a police report.The manager of Caffe Boa notified police of an activated alarm and a broken window on the front door, police reported.
While waiting for police to arrive, the manager noticed a woman exiting with two knives in her hands, according to the report.
The woman told the manager she needed the knives to protect herself from the mosquitoes in the game Jumanji, then she ran back inside the business, police reported.
Police could not find the woman when they arrived, police reported.
Later in the evening, Mill Avenue security saw a woman who matched the previous woman’s description walking toward a bus stop at Third Street and Mill Avenue, according to the report.
The woman appeared to have just woken up, had scratches on her arm and a cut on her ankle, police reported.
The woman told police she remembered drinking at Canteen Modern Tequila Bar for 30 minutes before running into a vendor’s tent at the Tempe Arts Festival because she thought she was being chased, according to the report.
The woman said she then fell asleep, police reported.
She said when she awoke, there were black kitchen knives next to her and she did not remember how they got there or how she got her injuries, according to the report.
A security video showed a woman matching her description breaking into the business, according to the report.
The woman was arrested, transported and booked into Tempe City Jail.
