Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

A 40-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Tuesday  evening at the 2300 block of West Baseline Road on suspicion of shoplifting and narcotic drug possession, according to a police report.

The man allegedly attempted to steal five DVDs from Fry's Electronics by placing them in the bottom compartment of his child's stroller, police said.

The man paid for an 8 GB memory card and attempted to leave the store without paying for the DVDs, according to the report.

The man said he stole the merchandise but wouldn't say why, police said.

The stolen DVDs were estimated to be worth $150, according to the police report.

A search of the man revealed five green Oxycodone pills in a plastic sandwich bag in the man's pocket, according to the report.

The man said he had a prescription for the Oxycodone pills but didn't have it with him, police said.

The man was arrested, transported to Tempe City Jail where he was booked, held to see a judge and released pending narcotics charges.

A 25-year-old Phoenix man was arrested June 4 at the intersection of Fourth Street and Mill Avenue on suspicion of burglary, aggravated assault, fraud and an outstanding warrant, according to a police report.

The man removed a bottle of wine, several bottles of beer and an employee t-shirt from the employee backroom of Mellow Mushroom, a restaurant on Mill Avenue, police said.

When confronted by an employee in the backroom, the man proceeded to leave, according to police.

The man was confronted by two more employees while leaving and pulled out a serrated knife and said, "I'll f---ing kill you," according to the police report.

One of the employees said he feared for his safety, according to report.

The man also tried to purchase alcohol with another woman's debit card before leaving, police said.

The man was later identified at Fourth Street and Mill Avenue by four of the restaurant's employees, according to police.

The man had eight bottles of alcohol as well as the Mellow Mushroom t-shirt with him when he was arrested, police said.

The man said he took the bottle of wine because others told him it was easy to steal from that restaurant, and he stole the shirt as a souvenir, according to the report.

The man was arrested, transported to Tempe City Jail where he was booked and held to see a judge.
