Police: Man accused of domestic violence after wife locks herself in bedroom


ASU Police reported the following incident Friday:

 

  • A 22-year-old Mesa man was arrested Aug. 28 on the Polytechnic campus on suspicion of disorderly conduct, domestic violence and criminal damage, according to a police report.Mesa police arrived at South Desert Village after a woman reported that her intoxicated husband was throwing objects around the house and screaming profanities and threats to the woman, police reported.

    The woman told police the man left the house through the back door, according to the report.

    Police found wine spills and misplaced items throughout the house, police reported.

    An order of protection was issued against the man, according to the report.

    The man later told police he drank eight mixed drinks and became angry after hearing the woman talk about her boyfriend, police reported.

    The couple married in 2008 and separated in 2009, according to the report. They live together for their two children, police reported.

    Police took the man to the ASU Police Department at the Polytechnic campus, where he began scratching scabs off his wrists and smearing blood in the cell, according to the report.

    Police could not gather fingerprints because his fingers and hands were covered in blood, police reported.

    He was booked at the Fourth Avenue Jail for reckless behavior and criminal nuisance, according to the report.
