Every time I attend a football game at Sun Devil Stadium, I notice ASU students not displaying proper cheering etiquette.
The most glaring violation occurs when the Sun Devils are on offense. Before a pivotal play on offense, ASU students often start a loud “A-S-U” chant.
I have attempted on numerous occasions to explain to my fellow peers that we need to be silent when the Sun Devils possess the football, but they never learn.
I get it. You are excited. But after the “One, two, three — first down!” chant, it is time to be quiet.
ASU wants to run its offense at blazing speeds. The last thing it needs is a deafening noise coming from their student section disrupting the flow on offense.
The other major violation is the students who leave the game at halftime.
Some of them even get to the stadium hours prior to the game; yet leave once ASU leads by a couple scores.
It looks embarrassing when the students move down in the section after others leave and there are rows and rows of unoccupied bleachers.
