Man arrested after hiding DVDs in his pants


Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

 

A 32-year-old Tempe man was arrested Saturday at the 1800 block of East Rio Salado Parkway on suspicion of shoplifting, according to a police report.

A loss prevention officer at Target saw the man putting several DVDs in his pants while in the men's restroom, police reported.

When the man exited the restroom, the officer held the man until police arrived, according to the report.

Tempe Police transported the man to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.

 

A 32-year-old Tempe man was arrested Jan. 3 on the 400 block of East University Drive on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana, dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to a police report.

Officers saw the man riding an electric Moped and smoking a marijuana cigarette while riding in the bicycle lane on East University Drive, police reported.

After officers stopped the man, he said he had a medical marijuana card, according to the report. He was unable to provide the card, police reported.

The man agreed to a field sobriety test, which showed signs of impairment, according to the report.

Police found $2,147 in cash, a bag of marijuana and marijuana cigarettes in the man's pants pocket, police reported.

Officers also found a small, black zippered bag containing a glass pipe and a small plastic bag with methamphetamine behind the scooter's seat, according to the report.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.
