Former ASU student dies after jumping from balcony at The Domain

A woman who Tempe police believe attended ASU died Saturday morning after jumping from a balcony at a student apartment complex in an apparent suicide, according to police.

A woman who Tempe police believe previously attended ASU died Saturday morning after jumping from a balcony at a student apartment complex in an apparent suicide, according to police.

According to witnesses, the woman jumped from a fourth-floor balcony located in the hallway of Building E at The Domain.

Police have not released the name of the victim but believe she used to live in the apartment complex.

Officers responded to a call at 5:06 a.m. and found a woman lying in serious condition in a courtyard at The Domain on East Apache Boulevard and South McClintock Drive, according to police. She died of her injuries while being transported to the hospital.

Witnesses describe multiple parties occurring in various apartments on the fourth floor late Friday night and early Saturday morning.

Another ASU student died in 2011 after falling from a fifth-floor balcony at her apartment at The Domain.
