Surveillance equipment taken from student housing complex

ASU Police reported the following incident Wednesday:

Police are investigating the theft of a surveillance camera and cable from Cholla Apartments on the 900 block of East Terrace Road, according to a police report.

Although the report was filed Feb. 22, it is believed that the equipment was stolen between 8 a.m. on Jan. 9 and 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 10, police reported.

The camera, an Axis Communications model #241S valued at $1,500, was taken from the east elevator in building A of the apartment complex, according to the report.

The ASU Residential Life Operations manager at Cholla Apartments said he received an email at 2 p.m. on Feb. 22 from ASU Facilities Management, informing him that the surveillance camera was missing, police reported.

There are no suspects, leads or witnesses, but the manager is willing to aid in prosecution, according to the report.
