Former U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl has joined the faculty at ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and will begin teaching immediately.
Kyl served on the U.S. Senate from 1994 until January 2013 and the U.S. House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995. He will be teaching classes and leading discussion groups focused on immigration reform, sequestration and the debt ceiling, tax and entitlement reform and national security and foreign policy.
Kyl said in a University press release he is excited to begin work at ASU and use his Congressional experience to teach subject material that textbooks do not cover.
He received a law degree at UA and works at Covington & Burling, the largest law firm in Washington, D.C.
Douglas Sylvester, dean of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, said in the press release that he is excited about the perspective Kyl will be able to bring to ASU law students.
