Arizona Board of Regents had a meeting for an interactive discussion about raising tuition at ASU, U of A, and NAU.

Students could see their tuition bump up by 3 percent starting in the fall semester, one of the lowest increases in the last decade.

ASU's 2013-14 tuition proposal calls for a 3 percent increase for all on-campus students and a 4 percent increase per credit hour for online students.

Resident undergraduate students will see their tuition increase between $180 and $276, depending on when they began attending ASU, the campus they attend and their majors. There was no rise in resident undergraduate tuition last year.

Nonresident undergraduate tuition will increase between $270 and $675 per year, while resident graduate tuition will go up $299 and nonresident graduate students will increase by $736.

The Arizona Board of Regents published the three public universities' tuition recommendations on Friday. UA also proposed a 3 percent increase.

NAU operates under a pledge program that guarantees students will pay the same tuition for eight consecutive semesters, but it proposed a 5 percent increase for new students.

ABOR will vote on all three universities' recommendations at its full board meeting in Tucson on April 4 and April 5.

ASU will have public hearings March 27 on all four campuses, and students can send comments to the Board as well.
