Biffy Clyro may not be well known in the U.S., but in the U.K., it is regarded as one of the best alternative rock bands. Beginning in 1995 with the band name Skrewfish, the local band fromKilmarnock, East Ayrshire, Scotland transformed their Metallica and Guns N'Roses influences into the unique sound of Biffy Clyro.

In its 2013 album, "Opposites," which was released throughout the U.K. in January, Biffy Clyro gives a seamless and refreshing dichotomy of blasting tones and soulful choruses, like in its tracks "Biblical" and "Black Chandelier." However, its track "Modern Magic Formula" offers an up-beat tempo and catchy lyrics that journey into the the human condition and will light up the repeat button.

The sound of Biffy Clyro can be classified as a mix between 30 Seconds to Mars and Jimmy Eat World. However "Opposites" takes Biffy Clyro to a whole new level. It's hard to compare a band that has engineered its own creative sound with other bands. The trio of Simon Neil (guitar, vocals), James Johnston (bass, vocals) and Ben Johnston (drums, vocals) combine electrifying guitar strings and powerful vocals, separating Biffy Clyro from the mainstream alternative rock. "Opposites," which hit the No. 1 spot on the UK Album charts in February, will be released in the U.S. and Canada on March 12. The sounds of "Opposites" will also debut in the U.S. on its North American tour with Muse and at the 2013 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California on April 13 and April 20.
