Man almost crashes into center median, parked car

ASU Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

A 26-year-old man was arrested Saturday on East Eleventh Street on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to a police report.

At about 1 a.m., an officer saw the man’s vehicle drifting back and forth within the lane while heading westbound on Apache Boulevard, police reported.

The vehicle then drove in the bike lane for 20 feet on Thirteenth Street, police reported.

The vehicle turned into an alley after almost striking the center median and a parked car, according to the report.

The officer turned on his emergency lights in an effort to stop the vehicle, but the man continued driving, police reported.

After the vehicle stopped and police spoke with the man, the officer could smell the odor of alcohol on his breath and asked him if he had been drinking, according to the report.

The man said he had not been drinking and that he was Mormon and doesn’t drink, police reported.

After failing a series of field sobriety tests, the officer asked him to submit to a portable breath test, which captured his blood alcohol content at .187, according to the report.

The man was cited, transported to the ASU Police Station and released, police reported.

A 30-year-old man’s debit and credit card were used to make fraudulent purchases on April 16, according to a police report.

The man reported the incident to police Thursday after JPMorgan Chase and American Express alerted his wife about the possible fraudulent activity, police reported.

He said the debit and credit cards were stolen from his wallet, which he had left on his office desk in building four of the Interdisciplinary Sciences and Technology structures located on the 800 block of South McAllister Avenue, according to the report.

He said more than $300 worth of charges were pending on the debit card, but the charges to his credit card are unknown, police reported.

The man said one of the fraudulent purchases were made at a Wal-Mart on the 1600 block of West Bethany Home Road, police reported.

There are no leads or witnesses at this time, according to the report.
