Tempe Police: Man runs through trailer park to evade police

Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

  • A 23-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Oct. 11 near Priest Drive and Southern Avenue on suspicion of failing to stop, aggressive driving, endangerment, driving with suspended license, narcotic drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession and resisting an officer, according to a police report.

Officers noticed a white car traveling east on Southern Avenue that did not have a functioning license plate light, and they discovered that the plate was suspended after they ran the tags, police reported.

Police then activated their emergency lights and siren, but the vehicle accelerated to get away from the officers rather than stopping, according to the report.

Police followed the vehicle until it pulled into a trailer park on the 400 block of West Baseline Road, police reported.

The man then ran away from officers through the trailer park but was later detained by police, according to the report.

A records search revealed that the man’s license was suspended, police reported.

During a search of the vehicle, police found a baggy of cocaine in the man's wallet, police reported.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.

  • A 53-year-old Tijuana, Mexico, woman was arrested on Oct. 9 near the 800 block of Guadalupe Road on suspicion of shoplifting at Goodwill, according to a police report.

The woman was seen removing several items of clothing from the store without paying for the items, police reported.

The clothing was found in the woman’s vehicle, according to the report.

The woman admitted to taking the clothing without paying for it, police reported.

The woman was transported to the Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and held to see a judge, according to the police report.
