Two days after holding Cal to a horrid shooting day, the ASU men's basketball team could not repeat the feat Saturday in Palo Alto.

The Sun Devils (10-10, 2-5 Pac-12) fell to Stanford 89-70 at Maples Pavilion, ending ASU's winning streak at two.

The Cardinal (14-5, 5-2 Pac-12) made more thanĀ 70 percent of their shots in the first half to get a lead and then dominated the second half for the win.

Three Cardinal seniors dominated the stat sheet. Guard Chasson Randle and forward Anthony Brown each scored 21 points while center Stefan Nastic poured in 20 points of his own.

Just one Sun Devil, sophomore forward Savon Goodman, was in double digits with 18. Senior forward Jonathan Gilling scored three straight 3-pointers in the first half, but was shut out for the remainder of the game.

The game was close for most of the first half, but the Cardinal pulled away to start the second half and never looked back.

ASU held a one-point lead with 5:49 remaining in the first half, but Stanford dominated from that point on, outscoring the Sun Devils 56-36 for the rest of the game.

The main difference was that ASU made no 3-pointers in the second half after making eight in the first half. The Sun Devils also made just 38.7 percent of their shots in the second half and could not take advantage of open looks.

With the loss, ASU splits the road trip and will return to Tempe to play host to the Oregon schools on Wednesday and Friday.
