Tempe Police reported the following on Tuesday:

A 29-year-old Tempe woman was arrested on May 16 on the intersection of 5th Street and Mill Avenue on suspicion of marijuana possession and obstruction of a public thoroughfare, according to a police report.

Officers saw her and another man jaywalking across the intersection into traffic, causing approximately 10 cars to brake, police reported.

The two were heavily intoxicated and stumbling across the street and upon reaching the center of the intersection, the woman held up her middle finger to the closest northbound vehicle, according to a police report.

Officers yelled at them to stop as they began crossing the southbound traffic because a car traveling at around 25 mph appeared as if it was going to hit them, police reported. The car had to brake and come to a complete stop very quickly in order to avoid collision, police reported.

The two were asked to sit on the curb for investigation where the man reached into the woman’s wallet to take out her driver’s license and dropped marijuana cigarette on the ground, according to a police report.

The man immediately told the officers that it wasn’t theirs’ but the woman later confessing to the possession of the marijuana  claiming she was carrying it for a friend, police reported.

They were read their Miranda rights which the woman said she didn’t understand, police reported.

Both the man and woman were both transported to Tempe City Jail where they were booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.

A 52-year-old Phoenix man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding felony warrant out of the Maricopa County Superior Court on May 15 on the 600 block of Mill Avenue, according to a police report.

Officers contacted the man after he said he was not feeling well but couldn’t provide any details as to how he was not feeling well, police reported.

Police identified him and a record check revealed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, according to a police report.

During a search, officers found a glass pipe with a bulb on the end in the man’s pocket, police reported. The pipe had black residue on the end which the officer claims to have identified as methamphetamine, according to a police report.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail where he was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.
