Tempe Police reported the following incidents Sunday:

A 34-year-old Avondale man was arrested May 30 on the 200 block of East 5th Street on suspicion of an existing warrant as well as drug and paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.

Tempe Transit Center Security contacted officers after they discovered the man having sex in the public mens restroom with his girlfriend, police reported.

During contact with security, the man attempted to empty a small Altoid container of marijuana, according to the report.

The man gave a false name and date of birth once officers arrived, police reported.

Upon further investigation, police discovered the man’s true identity, which revealed two outstanding warrants from the Maricopa County Superior Court, according to the report.

During a routine strip search at the police station, officers discovered a one-inch clear plastic baggie containing crystal meth in the man’s belly button and a used syringe in his butt, police reported.

The man was booked into Tempe City Jail and released on pending charges, according to the report.

A 25-year-old Tempe man was arrested June 5 on the 1200 block of South Smith Road on suspicion of credit card theft and burglary, according to a police report.

The man broke the window of a locked car to steal a purse containing approximately $100 in cash and multiple bank and credit cards, police reported.

Moments later, security cameras captured the man attempt to withdraw $200 from an ATM machine and a $33 purchase of cigarettes and a lighter, according to the report.

Upon search, officers found the man had been in possession of a broken spark plug, a common device used to break into vehicles, police reported.

The man admitted to breaking into the car and stealing the purse during his investigation, according to the report.

During an interview, the man said he stole the purse because he was using meth and his family is “hurting for money,” police reported.

The man was booked into Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, according to the report.
