Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

A 30-year-old Tempe woman was arrested May 29 on the 1400 block of South McClintock Drive on suspicion of assault, criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a police report.

The woman allegedly entered the cab of a man’s white pickup truck without his permission, police reported.

An officer tried to detain her after she trespassed on the man’s vehicle, police reported.

She then proceeded to slap the officer on the left side of the face with her open left hand, according to the report.

The slap did not cause any injury to the officer, according to the report.

After detaining her, officers searched the woman where they found a syringe loaded with brownish fluid in her tote bag, police reported.

The woman admitted the syringe was loaded methamphetamine, according to the report.

The woman was transported to Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.

An 39-year-old Tempe man was arrested May 29 on the 2000 block of East Broadway Road on suspicion of child abuse, according to a police report.

Said abuse happened when the man left his 7-month-old child in a stroller unattended by a community swimming pool, police reported.

She was left unattended for approximately 25 minutes, according to the report.

After retrieving her he dropped her out of a stroller approximately 2 feet high onto the stairs of his second story apartment, according to the report.

The child was seen by the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department and she appeared to not have any visible injuries but was transported to Maricopa Medical Center to be seen by a doctor, according to the report.

Three independent witnesses confirmed the child was left unattended for 25 minutes and then fell out of the stroller when the man tried to take her up the stains in the stroller, police reported.

The man was slurring his words and stumbling as he spoke, suspected to be under the influence of some sort of depressant, according to the report.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.
