Tempe Police: Man almost crashes into police car, found with array of drugs


Tempe Police reported the following incident Monday:

A Tempe man was arrested at the 1300 block of East University Drive on March 18 on suspicion of driving under the influence and possessing a weapon by a prohibited person, marijuana, dangerous drugs and narcotics, according to the report. 

The man was traveling along University Drive when he nearly collided with a police officer before drifting into another lane and into the bicycle lane, according to the report. When officers approached the man from the car, they found a bag of marijuana, Xanax pills, heroin and meth in the car, officers reported.

Upon further search of the car, officers found a silver revolver containing live ammunition under the man's seat, officers reported.  

The man was was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge.
