The ASU men’s golf team concluded its 2017-18 season on Monday afternoon at the NCAA Golf Championships in Stillwater, OK.
After making the 15-team cut on Sunday, the Sun Devils came back out on Monday and shot 14-over 302 in the team’s final round of the season.
With the score, ASU finished tied for 13th with Clemson, and although the season may have ended, the team was able to represent themselves and their conference with pride after they were the lone Pac-12 school remaining in the tournament.
ASU sophomore Chun An Yu finished tied for 21st in the field, and he shot a 2-over 290 in the tournament.
As for some other fellow sophomores, Alex Del Rey finished tied for 41st, and Blake Wagoner shot 14-over 302 to tie for the 65th position.
Freshman Koichiro Ishika also helped round out the Sun Devils roster by finishing 2-over par on the final day of the tournament.
While the season might have drawn to a close for ASU, there is still a lot to look forward to with a young team.
In Stillwater and throughout the season, the Sun Devils had no upperclassmen, and everyone on their roster will return next season.
With a promising future for a young team, ASU will get ready for next season.
As for the rest of this year’s tournament, the championship match will take place on Wednesday, May 30.
