A search and rescue is currently ongoing for an ASU research analyst assistant who has been declared a missing and endangered person after injuring his leg while hiking in Oregon on Monday.

David Yaghmourian, 30, was last seen on top on the eastern junction of Mount Hood's Timberline Trail at the Pacific Crest Trail on Monday night when he injured his leg, according to a press release from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

Yaghmourian was with another hiker but stopped to rest while the other hiker went ahead to the Timberline Lodge to wait for Yaghmourian's arrival, but he never showed up the sherrif's office said.

Yaghmourian graduated from ASU in 2014 with a degree in psychology and now works in ASU researcher Michelene Chi’s Learning and Cognition Lab in the Institute for the Science of Teaching & Learning.

According to the press release, Yaghmourian was described as being "last seen wearing a tan baseball cap, black Columbia jacket and tan pants, with a large black backpack with red trim and what appeared to be a yellow towel on top."

When reached for comment the sheriff's office did not have any additional information to add at this time, but asks anyone who sees or comes into contact with Yaghmourian to call the agency's non-emergency line at 503-655-8211.
