The Sun Devil volleyball team captured two games of three over the weekend at the OU Nike Invitational.

On Friday, ASU knocked off the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in straight sets before falling to Oklahoma, the host of the tournament. On Saturday, the Sun Devils took down Georgia Tech.

Against Louisiana, junior outside hitter Andrea Mitrovic led ASU with 15 kills and added 11 digs. Fellow outside hitters Claire Kovensky and Iman Isanovic delivered 11 and nine kills.

Senior setter and Phoenix native Callie Jones recorded 26 assists in the game and senior libero Courtney Leffel led the team in aces with two and digs with 16.

The Sun Devils thoroughly outplayed the Ragin' Cajuns, outscoring them 75-51 in the three sets (25-18, 25-12, 25-21).

Later that afternoon, ASU faced Oklahoma, who came out on top in five sets (25-22, 17-25, 16-25, 25-12, 12-15).

After forcing a fifth set by squaring the game at two apiece, Oklahoma won the final set by three to secure the victory.

Leffel continued her prowess against Oklahoma, recording a team leading 29 digs. Mitrovic, who once again led the team in kills with 17, also made her presence known.

Sophomore setter Noa Miller led ASU in assists with 19.

Following Friday's split, the Sun Devils closed out the tournament Saturday with a win against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in four sets (25-16, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21).

After a first set win, ASU came from behind to win the second set thanks to a 5-0 scoring run to take a 2-0 lead.

Despite dropping the third set, the Sun Devils bounced back in the fourth to win their second match of the weekend.

Mitrovic, for the third time in the weekend, led the team in kills with 12, earning her an all-tournament selection.

The 2-1 weekend improves the Sun Devils to 6-3 in the 2019-20 campaign. Next up, they'll travel to Las Vegas to face the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in the Rebel Challenge on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. MST.
