Video: The West MLK Jr. march goes virtual

Faculty on ASU's West Campus converted the annual MLK Jr. March on West event into a pre-recorded webinar

Students, teachers and community members walk back along the MLK March on West route at the ASU West Campus on Jan. 23, 2019.

The MLK Jr. March on West has been a tradition on the West Campus since 1999 but was pushed online this year due to COVID-19. Usually, middle schoolers from across the Valley meet at the Paley Gates and march down to the Reflecting Pool where Charles St. Clair, West Faculty member, recites Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the ASU MLK Committee adapted this event into a virtual webinar.
