After an 8-4 regular season and a sixth-place finish in the Big 12, ASU will travel to El Paso, Texas, to face the Duke Blue Devils in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl on New Year's Eve.
Fresh off a shocking ACC Championship win, Duke caused chaos in the College Football Playoff rankings and now looks to continue that success into bowl season.
Duke sophomore quarterback Darian Mensah had one of the most productive seasons on the offensive side of the ball. In the country, the Tulane transfer threw for a fourth-best 3,646 yards, fifth-best 30 touchdowns and just five interceptions.
The 8-5 Blue Devils have good wins in N.C. State, a road win over Clemson, and an ACC Championship win over now-No. 19 Virginia. However, their record is marred by a questionable loss to UConn and four other losses to solid competition.
This will be the Sun Devils' eighth trip to the Sun Bowl, where they hold a 4-2-1 record. ASU faced Duke in 2014 and won 36-31.
The game will be the last hurrah for the injury-riddled Sun Devils, who look to end the season on a high note.
