The body of a recent graduate of ASU's W.P. Carey School of Business was recovered from the Salt River by Maricopa County deputies on Sunday.
According to a written statement from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, officials responded to missing person reports on the Salt River on May 23 at about 3:15 p.m.
At approximately 12:15 p.m. the next day, MCSO deputies pulled the body of 22-year-old Sahr Sewah from the Salt River, and the next of kin was notified.
The case status for the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office listed the primary cause of death as drowning, and the manner of death as an accident.
In an email statement, an ASU spokesperson confirmed that Sahr graduated this month.
"Arizona State University extends its deepest condolences to Sahr's family and friends during this difficult time," the spokesperson said.
