The temperature is (slightly) down, but the fall festivities are up.

For Sun Devils, October's sub-90 degree weather means a nicer walk to class and a new playlist to go along with it.

If you're looking for a change in your usual routine to commemorate the season, look no further — The Echo has compiled a list of recommendations from music to film that are perfect for fall.

Aux for autumn

Up-and-coming artist release: "Fell Asleep in the Sun" by After

Sometimes dreamy, synth-heavy trip-pop is all you need. For music duo After, they've nearly mastered the art in their latest album. "Fell Asleep in the Sun" was released on Sept. 18, characterized by a Y2K-esque sound and vivid vocals.

It's what can only be described as the tranquility after a rainy day — optimistic, yet spilling with emotion in its lyrics and instrumentals.

The opening track, "Take Me to Sunrise," features vulnerable lyrics disguised by an upbeat chorus, something I feel is very autumnal in its core. "Metal" leans into the more alternative pop and light rock sound, reminiscent of the works of bands such as Paramore and Evanescence.

Recently opening for The Neighbourhood, After is a great up-and-coming duo that I wholeheartedly believe is about to reach their big break. Be sure to claim your "OG Fan" ticket now.

My recommendation: "Snowburn"

For an immersive experience: "Two Star & The Dream Police" by Mk.gee

Mk.gee is your favorite artist's favorite artist.

While you may not be familiar with his independent projects, you've definitely heard of Justin Bieber — who brought him out during Coachella to perform their co-written and produced hit song, "DAISIES." He's received praise from Eric Clapton and was also featured in the iconic Charli xcx's Spotify Wrapped.

"Alesis" is the top-streamed song on the album, and for good reason. Featuring a drumline that seamlessly ties with a heavy bass, Mk.gee creates the perfect canvas for moody vocals.

For a more emotional track, "I Want" offers the listener just under four minutes of yearning over an intricate beat. It's a song perfect for a late-night drive or for overthinking before bed.

With a unique, experimental sound, "Two Star & The Dream Police" is the blueprint album for modern alternative R&B and indie pop. Mk.gee's guitar should be considered nothing short of a superpower.

My recommendation: "Little Bit More"

Recent and upcoming music of the season:

Slayyyter: "i think he's got a girl"

ADÉLA: "PRIMA"

Olivia Rodrigo: "expectations (feat. Chappell Roan)"

Fontaines D.C.: "Dopamine Chamber"

Tinashe: "Popstar"

Ashe: "The Girl of Your Dreams"

beabadoobee: "Pylon"

Fall into film

With Halloween around the corner, fall is the perfect season to cozy up to a good film — whether horror or not.

"Psycho"

A classic thriller that may hit close to home, with a large part taking place in Phoenix. It also features one of cinema's most iconic plot twists, making for the perfect movie to prepare you for Halloween.

"Resident Evil"

This video game-based film hit theaters last month, receiving praise for its similarities to the original storyline. It also features Austin Abrams, an actor that the internet can't stop talking about.

"Scary Movie"

This parody film is one sure to invite eye-rolls. It's perfect for any film buff looking to laugh at the callbacks from many cult-classic horror flicks.

"Lady Bird"

For those looking for less of a scare and more of an autumnal setting, "Lady Bird" is a good pick. With deeply emotional dialogue, viewers experience a coming-of-age film full of harsh realities and self discovery — a classic theme within many A24 pieces.

"Scott Pilgrim vs. the World"

For something a little more upbeat, this is the perfect comedy-action for the season. Scott Pilgrim, played by Michael Cera, is head-over-heels for Ramona Flowers, who's far out of his league. He goes to some unusual lengths to literally "win" her over. It's a personal favorite I associate with the season.

The "Twilight" Saga

And of course, it wouldn't be a fall media guide without mentioning "Twilight." Even if you're not so much a fan of the vampire vs. werewolf love triangle, Robert Pattinson is having a great year in cinema, so why not remember his roots?

Even more encouragement to watch is heard in the music the saga features. Muse, Paramore, Bon Iver, Bruno Mars and more can all be heard throughout the five movies. This all-too-familiar franchise is one my Letterboxd hates to see coming.
