I received an e-mail this week from Associated Students of ASU President Brandon Goad asking for my feelings on the expansion and renovation of the Memorial Union and Student Recreation Center. I was enthused to give my two cents. After all, I pay enough money to go to school, so my opinion should be worth something, right? And it's definitely better than dealing with telemarketers.

Two laptop computers, three computer monitors and a Dell desktop computer were stolen from campus last week, but ASU police say there is no obvious trend in the thefts.
Mesa police apprehended a suspect in the stabbing murder of J.P.'s Food Mart clerk Sukhvir Singh on Wednesday.

If the weather ever grows colder (it is the first day of fall, after all), Arizona residents will reach for their jackets to keep warm. As technology allows things to get smaller and textiles to be more versatile, jackets now can keep us not only warm, but also safe and invisible.

Hopefully, all of us had similar reactions upon hearing that a swastika was spray-painted on the door of the Islamic Cultural Center last Thursday. This is an undeniably ugly act devoid of humanity, and freedom from religious persecution is a tenet of our democracy.
We all have taken trips down Alpha and Adelphi drives and seen the architectural wonders that line "Fraternity Row." Many memories have been made and lost in these run-down houses from the 1950s. In general, the area looks like a war-zone. As a member of the Greek community myself, I know that this is not a popular thing to hear from a fellow Greek; I mean, who really wants to be reminded that he lives in the ghetto?

Images associated with the neo-Nazi and skinhead movement were painted on the entrance of the Tempe Islamic Cultural Center early Thursday, and Tempe police are investigating the incident as a hate crime.
