Faux-Chella to liven up ASU music scene

Urban Dictionary defines “musicphile” as “a person who thoroughly enjoys listening to a wide selection of music and varied musical genres.” While it is not something tangible, an object one can see or touch, music affects our brain.

TurboVote activates student voters

Through the College of Public Programs, students are developing a new initiative with the goal of registering more ASU students to vote and getting them to their assigned polling place through services offered by TurboVote.

Magical realism embodies classy sensuality

Sensuality can sometimes be considered too risqué or taboo for public media. Readers can argue that "Fifty Shades of Grey" has a sensuous tone, but I'm talking about literature a level below the handcuffs and whips. What I'm referring to is the detailed imagery of passion, where the sex is not even described in more than one sentence. Yes, I get a tad uncomfortable when reading descriptions of a couple's private moment.

AAA's semester exhibit questions reality and imagination through community arts

Upon closer inspection, the paintings, drawings and multimedia works that pepper all eight floors of the UCENT reveal a thriving community of artists with a lot to say. From elementary school art classes to independent local artists looking to sell, the variety of images and interpretations provides a comprehensive overview of the creativity existing in our community.

Searching for a sea change: A closer look

Kinzler is part of the team, funded by the National Science Foundation, that studies ice samples to understand how phytoplankton function beneath the frozen Arctic surface.
