ASU football shifting away from JUCOs

Davon Durant wasn’t ASU football’s first JUCO misstep. He probably won’t be the last, either. If you recall, four-star Dalvon Stuckey and teammate Darrius Caldwell reportedly didn’t enroll at ASU last year because of academics. Durant has been suspended indefinitely after being arrested on three counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and one count of felony aggravated assault.

Red-hot ASU men’s golf wins fourth tournament of the season

The ASU men’s golf team took home its fourth team title of the season and head coach Tim Mickelson saw his eighth player win a tournament under his watch at the Oregon Duck Invitational on Tuesday. The team won the event by six strokes topping after finishing the tournament a 1-under 863 beating the second place Washington Huskies who finished a 5-over 869.

ASU football: Simone leads strong secondary into 2015

What was seen as ASU football’s biggest potential flaw just a year ago may be its biggest strength heading into the 2015 season. The Sun Devil defense is expected to return nine starters in 2015, with the two players replacing departed seniors Damarious Randall and Marcus Harrison each having received their fair share of playing time in 2014. In the eyes of head coach Todd Graham, the most integral players to the ASU defense are redshirt junior linebacker Laiu Moeakiola and redshirt senior safety Jordan Simone.
