Everything is always better in threes. And for these three ASU students, their fashion sense definitely reflects on each other.

I love how diverse our campus is. With students from all over the country and the world, I have seen a wide world view of fashion. I came across these three friends sitting on a bench in the afternoon, laughing and enjoying themselves in the beautiful Arizona weather.

I was immediately drawn to the three students by comfortable, yet fashion-forward style they wore. As a college student, sometimes it can be hard to always dress to the nines and wear elaborate fashion-forward items. However, these three close friends are displaying a great, and easy way to dress, like a casual, yet fashion-forward college student.

Focusing first on the friend on the far left, his outfit is perfect for an Arizonan winter. With his simple gray sweater with a single black stripe through the chest, and an embroidered “P” on the left side, he is making a bold statement without being too bold. The distressed jeans are perfect for a casual look. However, if he wanted to go for a nighttime look, the distressed jeans would go perfectly with a dressier shirt. On his feet, he chose to wear the classic white Nike tennis shoes. To top it off, he is wearing headphones around his neck for his MP3 player; total college look.

Now, the second friend in the middle had me especially intrigued. On top she is wearing a simple and casual, forest green cardigan with three, large, cream colored, buttons. Underneath the cardigan she chose to wear a brown camisole, which goes perfectly with her color scheme. Her pants were one of my favorite parts to the outfit. She is wearing black, bleached skinny jeans. I love these jeans because they aren’t the typical black skinny jean. The white bleached look gives the pants more character. I was completely surprised when I realized that for shoes she was wearing Sketcher Shape-Ups. Many fashionistas frown upon these shoes, but I have to say she definitely pulled them off in a trendy and fashionable way.

For the last friend, he is all about layering. Underneath his casual black jacket is he is wearing an army green, light-hooded shirt. Layering is perfect for Arizona’s bipolar weather because if the sun decides to come out, then this fashion-forward student will be able to remove his top jacket and still feel comfortable in his light sweatshirt. As for his jeans he is wearing a dark wash, which is a great color of jean to have because it can be worn with everything. His shoes however, were my favorite part of the entire outfit. The fashion-forward student was wearing brown Velcro tennis shoes. The shoes are very trendy and pull the outfit together.

No one wants to have to think too hard about what they’re going to wear for school everyday. However, you can still pull of a fashion forward look like these students without trying to hard and while still being comfortable.
