The former Sun Devil was selected in the third round with the final pick (No. 36 overall) in the 2015 WNBA Draft by her hometown Mercury, who are the league's defending champions.
Amukamara played just eight minutes in two preseason games for the Mercury, totaling two points and three rebounds.
She was a Pac-12 All-Defensive team member in a standout season for ASU in 2014-15 that saw the Sun Devils reach the Sweet 16, and finished sixth all-time in school history in steals with 209.
Amukamara is an Arizona native who graduated from Glendale High School. Her older brother, Prince, is a cornerback for the New York Giants in the NFL and her younger sister, Peace, is expected to be the starting point guard for the Sun Devils this season.
