Tempe Police: Man arrested after found with drugs and another man's wallet

The Tempe Police station, which is located on Fifth Avenue near College Avenue. 


Tempe Police reported the following incidents on Thursday:

A 32-year-old Scottsdale man was arrested Jan. 9 on suspicion of failing to appear in court, property theft, credit card theft and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.

Officers were called to Dunkin' Donuts by employees because the man had been asked to leave several times and refused to go, according to the report.

The man had a warrant from the city of Tempe out for his arrest, police reported. 

Upon searching the man, officers found three hypodermic needles, a spoon with burnt residue and a Ziplock baggie filled with a crystalline substance, police reported.

When the man's backpack was searched, officers found a wallet containing an ID and three credit cards with the names of a different individual, who had been on record as a victim of identity theft, according to the report.

The man told officers that the identification was his, but stated he did not want to answer any more questions about the cards, police reported. 

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where was was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.
