Dedicated Corona and fish taco fans helped owners of Dos Gringos Trailer Park move the popular hangout to its new location Thursday on Eighth Street near Rural Road.

Loyal customers volunteered to march the restaurant's furniture and supplies to the new location in a symbolic parade that included a marching band and signs that read "Honk if you're trailer trash."

Volunteers received T-shirts that said, "I helped move Dos Gringos Trailer Park," along with 10 Dos dollars to use at the new location.

Maureen Kanagaratnam, broadcasting senior and public relations intern for Dos, signed people up to help move.

Kanagaratnam said she has been a loyal fan of Dos for the past three years and will miss walking to Dos from class.

"It's all about location," she said, adding that Dos is so convenient because it's just across the street from the University.

Dos patrons had mixed feelings about the move.

Interdisciplinary studies senior Andrea Esparza said she has been going to Dos since she was 20 and even celebrated her and her friends' 21st birthdays there.

She said she would continue to go to the new Dos location even though it is farther away.

Management junior Tyler Craig said he hopes the new Dos location is just as cool as the old one.

"I think it's [the move] tragic," said Craig, who said he goes to Dos at least two or three times a week. "It opens up the creative juices and opens the mind flow."

Marketing senior Katie Weisser said she doesn't think Flip Flops will do as well in the same location.

"They don't have the name," she said.

The new location will have more parking and accommodate more people, is two stories high and will feature a knee-deep fountain for customers to play in, said Jenny Spellman, kinesiology senior and public relations intern for Dos.

Fine arts undergrad Lana Chapman said she was sad about Dos moving.
