College football.

It's a beautiful thing. Now that ESPN is starting to pump all of its college football coverage and August is just around the corner, I'm getting all excited.

Though I know it's early, and my opinion means nothing, I think ASU should win every game this year except for the Georgia and USC contests.

Come Sept. 20, the nation's eyes will be on Tempe when the Georgia Bulldogs come to town.

The SEC giants are already being tabbed to be the No. 1 team in the nation when the first official preseason rankings come out.

I just hope that the game is close.

I'm dreading a repeat of the ASU performance in last year's Holiday Bowl against Texas. The 52-34 debacle showed why ASU didn't have the respect of people across the country, even when they were riding high after an 8-0 start.

ASU needs a marquee win against a football program — not team, but program — like Georgia.

It's the only way that the Sun Devil program will ever garner respect nationwide and be considered an elite unit.
