This November, registered voters in the valley will cast their ballots to determine the next President of the United States of America.

Such a historic and important act is sure to cause voters a sense of pride, responsibility, and above all hunger.

So where can someone go to eat to continue their patriotic spirit?

There is only one restaurant that can satisfy: Uncle Sam’s.

Located in Scottsdale, Phoenix and Peoria, Uncle Sam’s is about two things: America and liberty. Anyone who drives and parks in their parking lot is warned that it’s patriot parking only, and that all others will be deported.

The main thing that makes Uncle Sam’s a great place to go is the crazy atmosphere. Not only is everything in red, white and blue, but also many different WWII posters and artwork of the America-loving Sam himself are displayed everywhere. One particular poster that sticks out is a barrage of tanks and military vehicles heading out with Sam looming in the background and the words “BUY WAR BONDS!” Think of it kind of like a TGI Fridays, but everything is about America.

The food for the most part sticks to a variety of hoagies and grinders, but there are other items available. Cheese steak sandwiches at $6.50 are one of the more popular items, and can add on mushrooms or peppers. If sandwiches don’t sound too appetizing, pizza and hot wings are also available ranging from mild to suicide.

There are also some day-specific and lunch-time specials that are patriotic and delicious. Get a 14 inch pizza and a pitcher of beer for $17.25 on Mondays. For the same price on Tuesdays, one can get 25 wings of their choice and a pitcher of beer. If it’s the lunch hour, one can get a complete chicken fingers, fries and soda meal for under $8.

Though considered a family restaurant, Uncle Sam’s also boasts a modest bar with plenty of TVs mounted around the restaurant. So not only is there not a bad view in the house, but multiple games can be enjoyed at the same time.

So this Nov. 4th, remember to go out and vote. And then after voting, go out and celebrate life, liberty, and the pursuit of grub at Uncle Sam’s.
