Oh hai,
How are you? I haven’t seen you for about a month, you’re looking well, I love your hair. How are classes, you’re not stuck sitting next to any mouth breathers are you? Man, that’s so annoying when that happens.
Anwho I have some news, are you sitting down? It’s okay, I’ll give you a second while you find a seat. So, now that you’re comfortable, you may have noticed SPM has trimmed down since you last saw it (and how nice of you to notice by the way). Yes, it’s true we’ve lost some weight, but we’re still full of the same delicious and tempting fillings. Drink of the Week is still here too (pg. 6)!
Speaking of new things, have you heard of this so -called Internet? It’s pretty awesome, it’s full of information, pretty pictures and Facebook profiles for you to lurk on. Well, pretty soon the Internet is going to have something really juicy and worth your time in the computer lab — the online version of SPM.
Now don’t get too, excit — SHUT THAT LAPTOP! Now, concentrate. SPM’s online version, or SPM 2.0 as I just this second started lovingly calling it, won’t be out for a while, so you’ll have to content yourself with the beta (print) version for a little while longer. But, when it does come out, oh what a glorious thing it will be. So glorious there might be a small outbreak of face-melting à la Indiana Jones. Or not, who can say?
You also may have noticed SPM was conspicuously absent from the paper last week. I know you only pick up The State Press on Wednesdays just to read SPM right? Sorry if we’ve seemed a little distant lately, we just don’t know if we want the same things out of life anymore, wait, no... wrong speech. The gist is SPM is going to be every other week now. It’s about quality not quantity, remember? It’s also about budgeting and how we’re not very good at it.
So to sum things up:
• SPM is published every other week now (bummer)
• SPM is soon making the jump to online (awesome)
• SPM is you’re favorite magazine (so true)
Oh, and hey, I’m Lana, the new editor. I’m the one running this shindig. So, if you have some free time and feel like telling me how much you like SPM, or how you’ve got a mouth breather sitting next to you and you don’t know what to do or just how awesome that old iBook I’m holding is and how you wish Apple still made them, drop me a line at lana.burke@asu.edu. And yeah, I’m totally with you on the iBook, colorful clamshells 4evah!
