Project Book Babe

Faith Hochhalter, aka The Book Babe, is suffering from breast cancer. Fortunately, she’s made quite a few friends over the years as a children’s book buyer and booking agent.
There will be a benefit this weekend featuring live music, panel discussions with authors, and for small donations, sketches by popular comic strip artists are available.
The event is from 2 to 5p.m. and will be held in the auditorium of Marcos De Niza High School.
Tempe Music Festival

This weekend, Tempe Town Lake will be hosting more than just fish and random boaters.
The Tempe Music Festival arrives for a two-day set of eclectic sounds and even better riffs.
Friday brings headliner Kid Rock to the stage. Saturday will feature, arguably, the best guitar player on the planet with Tom Morello performing as The Nightwatchman, his solo project he launched near the end of Audioslave.

The Taming of the Shrew

Shakespeare’s classic comedy gets a new, more modern twist with jazz and contemporary music.
Tickets range from $12 - $16. Seniors and students can purchase tickets for $12. The shows begin at different times: Friday’s show starts at 7:30p.m., Saturday features performances at 2p.m. and 7p.m. and Sunday’s show starts at 2p.m. All performances will be held at the Mesa Arts Center.
