Non-Required Reading: Arkham has Moved

So today I’m going to talk to you about one specific video game that has absolutely blown my mind, "Batman: Arkham Asylum."

"Arkham Asylum" was released in August 2009, and by some is considered the greatest comic book video game ever made. Gamers play as Batman locked in during a breakout by the Joker, and fight there way through assorted villains and challenges as they try to escape and set things right.

The game is just awesome. Everything about it. I can barely explain it without having some kind of nerdgasm, but all you need to know is it’s amazing. The “free- flow fighting” style allows you to actually think about which buttons you’re pressing (as opposed to just mashing like a "Mortal Kombat" game), the stealth mode forces you to not just go around punching things, and the Riddler trophies provide the extra side piece for those of us with serious obsessions with completing the game.

"Arkham Asylum" has been so popular it’s led to T-shirts, statues, an action figure line and many other pieces of shameless promotion that you would expect from a popular video game.

Don’t want to forget the voices either. Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, and Arleen Sorkin all reprise their roles from "Batman: The Animated Series" as Batman, Joker and Harley Quinn. It’s a unique experience for those of us who grew up on this show, to see a more mature style and story.

So of course that leads us to the sequel. There’s not a lot of information out there yet, but there’s plenty to make me feel the need to tell you, so here we go:

The plot will still revolve around the Joker. After his capture, he’s somehow going to escape into the streets of Gotham, where he will end up in some closed off section of Gotham specifically for criminals.

That’s right folks, this could easily be Batman in "Escape From New York." Think about that.

Villains rumored to be in the book are a huge lot. Mr. Freeze, Talia al Ghul, Two- Face, Catwoman, Mr. Zsasz and many others.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m friggin’ stoked for this game to come out. Don’t even bother looking for me in Fall 2011, cause I’ll be in Arkham Asylum (or at least buried in a TV after a 60 dollar purchase).
