Now, who said that just because it is a Friday, you have to wear sweatpants and grungy attire? Those who are most dedicated to fashion however, never surrender to sweatpants, even at the end of the week.
Walking around campus on a quiet Friday afternoon, it was not difficult at all to spot fashion-forward freshman Tyra Norlander. Tyra was displaying many trends for this year in a simple and not overdone way.
For pants, Tyra wore a new fashion trend—stretchy skinny jean cargo pants. Skinny jeans, in general, are always a good staple piece to have in your closet. However, the version of skinny jeans that Tyra is displaying gives a more relaxed and comfortable fit, while still giving the skinny jean appearance. The army green color is very versatile and like black, can go with almost any color. Tyra chose to pair her jeans with a beige quarter-sleeved, crop shirt, however black, white, gray, brown, or even pink would go great with the army green color.
Now, to talk a little bit more about the shirt that Tyra is wearing. The cropped top style of shirts is a very popular trend right now. The loose, flow of the shirt is great to pair with low-rise jeans, skinny jeans, shorts, and even high-wasted skirts. The nice thing about crop shirts is that if you are wearing, a statement belt, like Tyra, you are able to show it off without ruining the flow of your outfit.
As for Tyra’s shoes, she is definitely wearing a bold, fashion-forward trend. The army-style, combat lace-up boot is very in. You can see both fashion-forward guys and girls pulling off this statement look. I have seen fashionistas wear these boots with anything from jeans, to dresses, to shorts. The boots also look great with wool socks peeping out of the tops and with tights. The boots come in many different styles and colors however, the army boot is a definite fashion must-have, and Tyra does a great job pulling off this popular trend.
Tyra does not hesitate at all when it came to accessorizing her outfit. On her left wrist, she is displaying the popular and casual men’s watch look. You may find many people also wearing this look with oversized watches, almost as though they are wearing their boyfriend or father’s watch. On Tyra’s other wrist she is wearing a simple silver Tiffany’s bracelet paired with a thin gold bangle. Bracelets are always a great way to accessorize an outfit and there is never a rule to how many bracelets you can wear at one time. Tyra is also wearing two simple silver rings, delicate flower earrings, and of course to top of the accessories, the Aviators.
It is not hard to pull off a simple, yet statement look. If you have a few great staple pieces, in your wardrobe, a great pair of fashion forward shoes, and pair the outfit with some accessories you will be setting your own fashion forward trends in no time.
