Non-Required Reading: More Marvel Movie Madness!

Quick recap: I’m just talking a little bit about the two big Marvel movies coming around in the next couple of years.

Speaking of reboots (I was last talking about Spider-Man here), here comes "X-Men: First Class."

It's another step back from the previous movie. (seriously, did you see "X-Men 3?"  Did you really? Shame on you.)

This X-Men movie will be directed by Matthew Vaughn, the guy who directed "Kick-Ass" (great movie). It stars a variety of people, including Kevin Bacon, January Jones, Michael Fassbender, and James McAvoy.

I anticipate this being a much more fan-friendly movie. This isn’t going to be the kind of thing that the masses will love, but specialists (i.e. comic book readers) will absolutely love it.

It’s basically going to act as a prequel to the other X-Movies but won’t really be directly related. That means no one from the previous movies will be involved.

HOWEVER, Bryan Singer is involved. He was the director of the first two X-Movies (the good ones), and now he is going to be an executive producer. That’s good news.

The bad news is that Matthew Vaughn hasn’t directed any big summer movies. This is the first time he’s really had a blockbuster to work with, and I’m not sure he can handle it. Apparently if you ask January Jones, he already is falling behind.

But that’s January Jones, and she just told Jon Stewart in an interview that she’s a Steelers fan. How can we possibly trust a word she says?
