As I was walking past Hayden Library, I spotted a fashion-forward student sitting on the steps of the building. Prior to writing the fashion blog, I would always notice fashionable students here and there around campus, however, now I seem to discover students even from afar.
I think what grabbed my attention especially about this student was the picturesque scene that surrounded her. The long flight of steps on the stairs, and the way the sunlight hit her clothing, gave her look an even more appealing look.
What I especially liked about this student was the simplicity of her outfit, yet she was still able to stand out amongst the crowd.

I am beginning to see even more of the jean jacket look used in a variety of ways. Last week the fashionable student wore a jean jacket vest, the fashionista before wore a cropped light-colored jean jacket, and now this fashion-forward student is displaying the same idea.
She is wearing a button-up long sleeve jean shirt. I love how she chose to cuff the sleeves given her look a more casual, relaxed feel. Underneath she chose to wear nothing more than just a simple, white t-shirt. The nice thing about the jean look is almost anything can be worn with it. If she had worn a colorful shirt, the jean would have looked just as great.
For pants she is wearing the simple, black skinny jeans, which again goes great with everything. Paired with her jeans she is wearing slouchy, light gray, ankle boots. These boots are great because they work with her simplistic look, but have buckles that give them a bit of embellishment.
One of my favorite parts of her outfit is the necklace. The necklace gives a splash of color without being too over the top, and still giving her outfit the simple look she is going for. The browns and purples in the necklace tie in nicely with her color pallet and the brassy, gold chain ties into the buttons and stitching on her shirt.
As far as other accessories go, she chose to wear a white watch with a little shimmer of crystals on the face. Her final accessory is her purse. Some people may be very particular with their purses and must have them always match an outfit, however this student decided to be bold and wear a statement purse. The teal color is perfect for the spring, and even though it is a loud color, it still has a very simply, feminine look.
I think that sometimes although it can be fun to dress in daring trends, it is the simple, effortless style that still grabs my attention. I like when it looks as though someone put hardly any effort into their outfit, yet they still look amazing and fashionable. Many times in fashion, simplicity is the way to go.
