Palm Walk Runway: Classy Style

Now that the weather has finally hit 99 degrees, there is no going back. Students have started to pull out their sandals, tank tops, and sundresses. And for some people, they even seem to have adopted the swimsuit and cover-up style for an all-day outfit. Although the sun may be excruciating at times, new styles and fashions begin to unravel with the weather.

Outside of Vista Del Sol, I came across fashionable student, Laura Notorangelo. Laura is wearing a very classic and simple look.

Many times I think that people may be timid about wearing a beige skirt. For those with lighter skin, beige can seem like a color that would blend in with your skin, or beige can come off as an unflattering color. However, neither of these uncertainties is true. Beige is like the new black and is a great neutral color that goes great with many colors.

I love that Laura is wearing a high-waisted beige skirt. The beige looks great with her coloring, and the high pencil skirt flatters her figure nicely. Although the beige skirt is simple, it still makes a statement.

Going along with the neutral color scheme, Laura paired the skirt with a white tank top. The simple detailing of the bows on the shirt are so delicate and classy, and go perfectly with her outfit. White goes great with beige however, other colors that would go perfectly as well are navy blue, light pink, black, purple, green, and even an orange color.

Laura also decided to bring in a mixture of black with her accessories and shoes. For shoes, she is wearing black Coach wedges. Wedges are perfect for dressing up an outfit, and are much easier to walk in than regular high heels.

For accessories, Laura went very simple and not too overdone. She is wearing a black Tory Burch cuff bracelet, and for earrings she is wearing simple, silver Tiffany earrings. She is also sporting the classic big sunglasses and to top off her look, she added a small Coach wristlet.

Laura’s outfit is a perfect example of a classic look, yet with a lot of statement. Sometimes people feel that the more accessories, or clothing you have on the more statement you will make. Yes, you might be making a statement with all of the gaudy clothing, however, it is the wrong type of statement. Or in other words, like Coco Chanel would say, “When accessorizing, always take off the last thing you put on.”

Achieving a classic look is not hard to do. If you have a few great staple pieces and pair them with simple accessories, you will be sporting the classy style in no time.
