A Pumped-Up Playlist

So what’s the perfect remedy to get psyched up to pour through textbooks and countless assignments? Why a pump-yourself-up playlist of course! This one in particular is filled with some fresh artists that may be just what you need. These are beginning of the year picks to induce a more pleasant study hour and create a less tension filled arena for homework. Or a nice mix to just dance in your living room to. I leave that choice up to you.

1.     Art Vs. Science, Parlez-Vous Francais?, Magic Fountain-EP These Australian dudes know how to make a catchy song about talking French and neighbors doing the cha-cha, among other things I’m sure.

2.     Theophilus London, Love is Real ft. Holly Miranda, Timez Are Weird These Days This Brooklyn rapper’s ability to create a wonderful blend of genres into his songs definitely create obstacles to classify his sound. This confusion is a nice change.

3.     The Wombats, Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves), This Modern Glitch These lovely gents hail from Liverpool, their synth-induced sound of indie-pop is as infectious as those lovely accents.

4.     Foster The People, Call It What You Want, Torches I’ve written about them before, but I don’t care. I love them! They belong on any playlist with their creative touches that make their music so damn catchy. Plus, this lucky blogger gets to see them in September.

5.     The Kooks, Junk Of The Heart, Junk Of The Heart The Brits are just so talented. Or maybe I’m just in a British frame of mind. Nevertheless, my last pick for this most mix resonates from Brighton’s The Kooks. With their new album primed to drop Sep 13, these guys have not lost their delicious pop sensibilities.
