Broke's the New Black: Fall Color Forecast

When the chilly temps send us to shiver in out boots (perhaps a few months from now of us Phoenicians), darker hues typically come to mind. Grays, navys, and black are the main consistency of most winter wardrobes, but not this year. While the expected army green or royal blue is indeed present, who saw borderline neon coming? According to Refinery29.com (and confirmed by other sources such as Style.com) Fall 2011 is full of eye popping colors. Refinery29’s fall favorites:

These bold colors are going to be easy and fun to mix with things already in your closet. Since these vivid shades are being used to transition us into the holidays, that means we can get away wearing items we purchased this summer while still looking trendy. Try layering one of these fun colors under a basic cardigan or blazer or wearing colored shorts or pants with a slouchy sweater (I’m a huge fan of off the shoulder; it makes the outfit look effortless). High-waisted bottoms are really hitting hard so try tucking in a blouse and wearing a colored belt. Your LBD (little black dress) can be given a break since the LRD (red!) has come into view.  Dressing for winter has never been so bright.
