Palm Walk is the perfect runway for all of ASU’s most popular trends. When you look past sorority logos and girls in large sunglasses, we, Sundevils, are even more alike than one might think. This week I made a few observations and came up with a list of Sundevil Obsessions- things we can’t seem to live without.

Toms and/or Ugg Boots The Toms phenomenon has swept ASU, causing canvas slip-ons to become more common than blonde highlights. The One-For-One charity cause has surely sparked Sundevils to hop on the bandwagon and invest in a pair of, arguably, the most comfortable shoes ever invented. Speaking of comfort, Uggs have no limited supply at ASU.  Whether the original brand or mimics, sheepskin-lined-furry-slipper-boots dominate come winter time. (Just please don’t be the girl to wear Ugg boots with shorts- you just look indecisive and confused about the weather)

Oversized Purses Between sorority logo bags or large shoulder totes, female Sundevils tend to rock big bags as opposed to backpacks. While backpacks would be the obvious choice for shoulder support and joint health, we still manage to overload all of our school supplies into purses.

MacBook Pro Turn around in one of your classes. Enough said.

Male Sleeveless Tops a.ka. the “bro-tank” The infamous bro-tank: a favorite among our male population. I’ve noticed more men wear tank tops this year than ever, even on guys I never thought would convert. I guess totalfratmove is making an impact.

Urban Outfitters, American Apparel, Buffalo Exchange (or anything else found on Mill Avenue) When one doesn’t strike gold at the resale boutique Buffalo Exchange, the quick plan B is Urban Outfitters yielding basically the same type of things, just full price. And if you have ever dressed up for a themed party, you have shopped at American Apparel, (For some reason, girls love ‘80s parties and neon color palates. It’s unexplainable.)
