Fall is right around the corner yet it’s still over 100 degrees. What gives? We’re all itching to bust out our fall wardrobe but can’t seem to make the jump with temperatures still hotter than ever (although that hasn’t prevented a couple girls from slipping on their Uggs early).
Here’s a few tips to help calm the excitement for fall. By adding in a few autumn pieces gradually, we can start to make the transition gracefully (and early Uggs aren’t on the list).
Try a Scarf By throwing on a lightweight breathable scarf, you can achieve a more winter-y look without the warmth. Leaving it loose around the neck and wearing it as more of an accessory than a winter weather defense mechanism is laid back and easy.
Put Summery Shades Away It’s time to push those bright colored tops to the back of your closet. While bright colors like coral, orange, yellow, and turquoise are so easily associated with summer, the darker versions of these are fall-friendly. Try opting for browns, grays, or darker versions of the summer favorites like mustard yellow or navy blue. By simply changing your color palate, you can look more fall-oriented without a snow jacket.
Paint on Fall Colors Changing up your normal manicure color is a cheap and easy way to shake up your state of mind into fall mode. The darker hues for fall, like eggplants, grays, blues, or deep reds, automatically convert your look from light summer shades.
